CLUB CELEBRATIONS:

Announcements:

  1. Brett Brooking of the West Ottawa Club presented a cheque to President Anna in the amount of $4,050.00 which represents the sale of 405 Rotary Calendars.  Kemptville Rotary sells the most calendars of all the West Ottawa partners.
  2. Rotarian Rob reminded all about the duck ticket sales and sent around a sign-up sheet for the sales table at Independent.
  3. The Prime Minister’s award:  Rotarian rob spoke about the Prime Minister’s lifetime achievement award and the nomination of dr. George Fisher.
  4. Membership Party – Rotarian Rowena advised the club a party was in the works for June 1, 2013.  This will be a membership pot-luck at Rotarian Nancy Miller-McKenzie’s home.  An ad hoc committee will be established to plan for the event.  There will be a car rall/ scavenger hunt before dinner and all are invited to bring swim suits for the hot-tub.  All members are to bring a non-rotarian to the dinner.
  5. Nepean/Kanata dinner – There will be a guest speaker at the Nepean/Kanata Club on Thursday April 4, 2013 (President Anna) to replace the GSE group from Gabon who were unable to finalize their visas.  The event will be held at the Holiday Inn Select on Centrum.
  6. President Anna shared a Foundation “Thought and success story” with the club
  7. PDG Dr. George Fisher advised the club that Honourary Rotarian Keith Rolston was in hospital following a stroke. 
  8. An auction of Florida oranges and grapefruits was held.  $53.00 was raised for Rotary foundation and $53.00 was raised for the Youth Centre.
