Blankets for Ukraine: Humanitarian Aid
Ukraine is facing a very harsh winter ahead, the result of relentless missile strikes on Ukrainian cities. Civilian residential neighbourhoods in cities, and towns are being reduced to rubble. The Rotary Club of Kharkiv, in eastern Ukraine, has launched a simple yet very effective way of keeping people warm as winter sets in - locally crafted, waterproof blankets.
Kentavr, Kharkiv-based sewing enterprise, is producing the blankets for people in bomb shelters, and warming stations. A contribution of $40.00 will provide one much needed blanket.
The Rotary Club of Kemptville has begun raising funds in the Municipality of North Grenville, in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Arnprior.
The First Goal Pro Shop, located in the North Grenville Arena in Kemptville, is promoting the Rotary initiative. All donations will be given to the Rotary Club of Kemptville and will be added to all monies raised for blankets.
